Grab a cuppa joe (or a Starbucks, a DD or a plain old Folgers), pull up a chair and let’s get chatty.

I feel like I am late to the party this year.

Everyone made their resolutions (that they may or may not have intentions of keeping), mapped out their plan and got started already. Here I sit…at the starting gate…still trying to work up the mojo to get moving in the first place.

What’s your word for the year? I know you picked one!

I am not nearly as behind as I thought I was.

I was thinking by now that I was the only one without a word – you know the thing you focus on with all your might – the driving force behind your heart’s desire. THAT SACRED WORD!

You didn’t pick one either! Whew!  I feel so much better.

Now here comes the tricky part.  I THINK I FOUND ONE!  I found a word I like.  It’s not Intentional, Success, Wealth, Freedom or any of those typical words people want to dedicate their entire life to for a year.

My word is more modest. It is just a simple word.  Sorta plain and well, it just sounds plain!

WAIT FOR IT!

My word is OPEN!

Shikes!!! I know!  WOW…that’s deep!   Right ?!?

OPEN! Say it with me…O-O-O-P-P-P-E-E-E-N-N-N.

I want to be OPEN to possibilities. OPEN to opportunities.  OPEN to my calling.  OPEN to receive what is mine.  OPEN to new ideas.  OPEN to moving on from the past.  OPEN to building new relationships.  OPEN to forming new bonds.  OPEN to forgiveness.  OPEN to acceptance.  OPEN to wherever  this crazy ride will take me.  OPEN to whatever is out there that I need to be OPEN to.
