Add A Touch of Pretty

I’ve been called a lot of things but a person with a green thumb is not necessarily one of them.

I plant plants that kinda grow themselves. I am all about ones that require easy-care, can handle sun with a little shade, don’t have to be watered every 30 minutes and still look beautiful and smell great.

(door opens and in walks a Geranium) 😊

Geraniums might be super hard to spell or just remember but they are super easy on the eyes. They make colorful showings in window boxes, gardens and planters all throughout the summer.

Want to know what I even like more than how pretty they are? Well, let me tell you. When I don’t have to do much and still look like I actually know what I am doing when it comes to flowering my yard, I AM ALL IN.

There are only 6 tips I must remember when working with my geraniums:

  1. Provide a fast draining soil with good air circulation – Basically, use pot with holes in the bottom and some rocks to aid in the draining
  2. Wait to water soil until it is dry to the touch
  3. Feed plants a balanced liquid fertilizer every 2-4 weeks in summer
  4. Pinch dead leaves and flowers as needed
  5. Admire and enjoy while I sip a good glass of wine
  6. Tip 5 is absolutely the MOST IMPORTANT and should be repeated frequently! 😊

You can find Geraniums pretty much every where this spring. Any nursery, home and garden, big box and grocery should have a decent selection with a variety of colors. What I am learning though is that there are a bazillion different type of geraniums. I actually have several varieties in my yard now and I didn’t even realize it until today.

See…you can grow them even when you don’t know they exist.  Easy-peasy lemon squeezy.

Do you use geraniums in your yard?
